Upcoming Dog Training Classes for September
We hope you are having as fun of a summer as we are! Take a look at the exciting list of classes, workshops and playgroups we will be offering in September and check out the details on the new board and train program while you are at it!
Workshops and Play Groups:
Each class will last one hour and costs $30. Space is limited, so please call or email asap to reserve your spot. 🙂
◦ Working Dogs 101 (1 hour, No dogs): Thursday 9/6 at 7 pm
Do you have a dog who you know is destined to be more than a companion? In this course, we will cover the difference between Service Dogs, Therapy Dogs, and Emotional Support Dogs and learn about the different types of work your dog might be eligible for. In this course, Tanja, a Service Dog Trainer, will teach you everything you need to know to lead you in the right direction based on what steps you want to take next!
Nervous Nelly Play Group (1 hour, bring your dog):Â Saturday 9/8 at 1 pm
Calling all shy dogs! In our Nervous Nelly playgroup, you will find ways to build confidence in your dog in order to draw them out of their shells and learn how to socialize safely in a controlled environment. From calming techniques to fun ways to build confidence and trust- you and your dog will leave with the tools to enhance your bond!
Ask the Trainer (1 hour, bring your dog):Â Saturday 9/8 at 2:30 pm
Take advantage of our one hour trouble-shooting session with Tanja. Where you get to work on any training or behavioral challenges you are facing – from potty training to counter surfing and everything in between. You bring the problem, she’ll provide the solution!
◦ Puppy Preschool Play Group (1 hour, bring your dog): Tuesday 9/11 at 7pm
Bring your new puppy to Barley’s to start them off on the right paw! Based on the AKC Puppy Star course, this class provides a whole lot of play time and socialization, with a little bit of training too. Puppies up to 5 months of age are welcome to come, socialize, and learn how to play with other dogs under the supervision of our trainer, Tanja.
◦ Puppy Kindergarten Play Group (1 hour, bring your dog): Thursday 9/20 at 7 pm
Bring your new puppy to Barley’s to start them off on the right paw! Based on the AKC Puppy Star course, this class provides a whole lot of play time and socialization, with a little bit of training too. Puppies from 5-9 months of age are welcome to come, socialize, and learn how to play with other dogs under the supervision of our trainer, Tanja.
◦ First Aid-The Basics (2 hours, No dogs) : Saturday 9/22 at 1 pm
In this abbreviated version of our CPR & First Aid Course, you will receive important knowledge to assist your pet in a medical emergency. From bleeding protocol to what to do in the event of an accidental poisoning, you DON’T want to miss this class! Taught by our CPR trained and certified instructor, your pet will thank you for taking the time to learn skills that could potentially save a life! This class is $75. Sign up for both courses and save $10! Plus you would qualify for the CPR Certificate at the end of the series.
◦ CPR/Choking Protocol-The Basics (2 hours, No dogs): Saturday 9/22 at 3 pm
In this abbreviated version of our CPR & First Aid Course, you will receive important knowledge to assist your pet in an emergency. You will learn to assess your pet’s vitals, how to preform CPR, how to assist a choking pet, and much more! Taught by our CPR trained and certified instructor, your pet will thank you for taking the time to learn skills that could potentially save a life! This class is $75. ◦ Puppy 2nd Grade Play Group (1 hour, bring your dog): Tuesday 9/25 at 7 pm

Group Dog Training Classes
The following group dog training classes will begin on Saturday Sept 8th and run for 5 weeks consecutiviely. The cost is $150 for the series, each session is one hour long.
Puppy 2nd Grade: Saturdays at 10am starting 9/8
Calling all puppies and adolescents! Our Puppy 2nd Grade group training class will start up again on Saturday January 20th. This class will run for five Saturdays at 12:30 pm (our 11 am class is full) and is best suited for dogs 6-12 months old. Come join us in Puppy 2nd grade, where we begin the foundation for all things obedience. Puppies will learn basic on-leash obedience in an interactive manner, while in the company of other puppies.
Basic Obedience:Â Saturdays at 11:15 am starting 9/8
For dogs over 6 months old. Basic obedience is new and improved with new Barley’s trainer Tanja teaching the class. This class will cover everything your dog needs, to be the best they can be. Sit, down, stay, loose leash walking, recall, and more!

Barley’s new Board and Train program
Going on a trip and want us to train your dog at the same time? Barley’s is now offering Board and Train options!
While you are away, your dog will reside in the home of our certified trainer, Tanja, and her pack. During the stay, your dog will learn basic manners and obedience through the use of positive reinforcement based training. You will receive a daily report card of what your dog has accomplished, daily training lessons for your dog, written notes for all commands taught to your dog, and a follow-up training session when you pick your dog up so we can train you!
Our positive reinforcement training method is fast, effective, and transfers well from the trainer to you.

Puppy Board and Train (for dogs up to 9 months)
$100 per night, 4 night minimum (2019 rate is $125 per night)
Adolescent Dog Board and Train (for dogs 9 moths to 2 years)
$120 per night, 4 night mimimum (2019 rate is $135 per night)
Adult Dog Board and Train (for dogs over 2 years of age)
$120 per night, 4 night mimimum (2019 rate is $135 per night)
Special Needs Board and Train (for dogs with severe behavioral or aggression issues)
$200 per night, 4 night mimimum (2019 rate is $225 per night)
